The Fulbright Lancaster University Award covers a three-to-six month research project in any STEM field at the university. 

Lancaster University has a global reputation as a centre for research, scholarship and teaching with an emphasis on employability. 

Ranked 146th out of more than 1,000 universities in the QS World University Rankings in 2023, 91% of our research is independently rated as ‘internationally excellent’ or ‘world-leading’ in the Research Excellence Framework 2021. 

The Faculty of Science and Technology has a research  community of seven departments engaged in world-leading research that makes a demonstrable difference to our economy and society. Our community is made up of almost 700 staff and 600 research students, and the breadth and depth of research is extensive.   

The Faculty hosts a number of research centres, working with the University to further scientific knowledge and translate it into applicable solutions for the economy and environment:

Grant amount

£3,000 per month

This funding is intended as a contribution towards US-UK travel, institutional fees, accommodation, and general maintenance costs while in the UK.
