University of York

The Fulbright University of York Award covers the first year of any masters or doctoral degree programme offered by the University.

The University of York is a leading UK university, creating independent critical thinkers through a culture of academic excellence and ground-breaking research. As a member of the prestigious Russell Group we are committed to research-led teaching, providing a supportive and inclusive learning experience for our students.

The University is based on a 500-acre parkland campus and is one of a handful of UK universities with a college system. Our eleven colleges provide accommodation in private bedrooms, organise a range of social and sporting events and act as a support network, creating a strong sense of community amongst our students.  .Our Students’ Union (YUSU) and Graduate Student Association (GSA) run a huge selection of clubs and societies, making it easy for new students to integrate and feel at home throughout their studies.

Our main campus is just a short walk away from the historic city centre. Regularly voted the ‘best place to live in the UK’, York is home to a wide array of shops, museums, festivals, sporting and cultural activities, restaurants and cafes. It’s big enough to feel lively, but small enough to be friendly.

Please note, for applications to study at the University of York, it is highly recommended that you request a letter of support from an academic within your receiving department at York. Failure to do so will place your application at a disadvantage.
