Victoria Grigsby

Aberystwyth University Summer Institute on Identity and Nationhood

Victoria Grigsby, born and raised in Fayetteville, Tennessee, is a rising sophomore at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro. Victoria is majoring in political science with a focus on international relations.  As a German minor, Victoria is passionate about exploring other cultures to further understand international politics. Having never traveled outside the country, she is looking forward to experiencing a new culture and connecting with those at Aberystwyth in addition to her study of Welsh nationhood and identity at Aberystwyth University.

Victoria’s second minor in economics has inspired her to learn more about the Welsh perspective of economic and social change so she can better understand the diverse economic situations in the city of Murfreesboro and abroad.

Having a special interest in civic engagement after registering voters for the 2022 US midterm elections with the ADP, a nonpartisan university organization, Victoria is looking forward to the opportunity of witnessing the Welsh assembly in action at Cardiff. She hopes to use her knowledge of Welsh politics to increase civic engagement in middle Tennessee.
