Spencer Dittelman

Fulbright/University of Leicester Award

Spencer Dittelman graduated from the University of Rochester in 2026 with a BA in English Literature and Politics, Philosophy, and Economics. A native of White Plains, NY, he developed a strong interest in Victorian literature, political thought, and interdisciplinary humanities research through his academic work and campus leadership. At Rochester, Dittelman competed in Model UN, participated in the Undergraduate English Council, and served as both a political science teaching assistant and undergraduate research ambassador. A Meliora Humanities Scholar from 2023-26 and recipient of the 2024 Charles Miller Williams and Mary Washington Williams Memorial Prize for Best Essay in the English Department, he also presented original literary scholarship through the Humanities Center’s Work-in-Progress Seminar Series. During his Fulbright Award at the University of Leicester, Dittelman will pursue a master’s degree in English literature with a concentration in Victorian Studies. He looks forward to engaging with the UK’s literary and cultural history, including participating in Leicester’s vibrant literary community and events such as the Literary Leicester Festival, while preparing for a future PhD and career in university teaching and research.
