Rodney Ford

Minister Counselor for Public Affairs - U.S. Embassy

Rodney Ford is the Minister Counselor for Public Affairs at the U.S. Embassy. A career member of the Senior Foreign Service, he has served both in Washington, DC and overseas. Prior Washington assignments include Executive Assistant to the Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs (R) and multiple assignments in the Bureau of African Affairs, most recently as the Deputy Director in the Office of West African Affairs (AF/W), responsible for Nigeria and the Sahel. Overseas assignments include Cultural Attaché at U.S. Embassy Rome, Italy; Spokesperson at U.S. Embassy Baghdad (2013-14) and at U.S. Embassy Rabat (2010-13); and Public Affairs Officer at U.S. Embassy Antananarivo (2007-10).  He has also served in South Africa and Suriname. Rodney holds an M.S. in National Security Studies from the U.S. National War College, an M.A. in Political Science from Georgia State University, and a B.A. from Emory University in Cultural Anthropology.
