Preston Baer

Raised in the desert landscape of Arizona, Preston Baer is a freshman at Barrett, The Honors College at Arizona State University, studying Artificial Intelligence in Business. With over six years of experience in video editing, he currently contributes as a visual effects artist and editor for ASU’s Admission Services. He is eager to expand his work into filmmaking. He aspires to produce his own films and build a sustainable creative career centred on visual storytelling. At Lancaster University, Preston will study film, focusing on cinematic techniques and the art of cinematography. He is especially interested in exploring Direct Cinema. While learning, Preston is excited to experience the natural beauty of Lancaster and explore the rich theatrical history of England. He hopes to form meaningful connections with his cohort and immerse himself in both the academic and cultural environment. Beyond film, Preston has a strong interest in music and health and wellness, with a background in physical therapy education. He aims to bring his expanded knowledge of cinema back to the United States and apply it to his own filmmaking projects.
