Payton Kelly-Van Domelen

Fulbright Scotland Summer Institute on Technology, Innovation and Creativity: University of Strathclyde and the Glasgow School of Art 

Payton Kelly-Van Domelen was born and raised in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, and is a rising sophomore at Mississippi State University. She is majoring in Biomedical Engineering and will be pursuing a minor in Global Engineering Leadership. They are a member of the Shackouls Honors College at MSU, and also represent some of MSU's highest achieving students as a Presidential Scholar.

Payton has had a passion for science since she was a child, and strives to combine her love for engineering, technology, medicine, and aerospace to develop medical devices for the maintenance of astronauts' health on long-term space missions. Through the Summer Institute, she looks forward to learning about past and current technological advancements in the UK, especially those within the medical field. As this is their first time traveling abroad, Payton is also excited to engage with the community, explore Glasgow, and learn more about Scottish history and culture.

In her spare time, Payton enjoys crocheting, jewelry making, writing poetry, and playing music. She also likes to spend time with her younger brother and her cat, Krispin.
