Pam DeVolder

Cultural Attaché at US Embassy London

Pam DeVolder began her assignment as Cultural Attaché at the U.S. Embassy in London in July 2023. Prior to this assignment, Ms. DeVolder served as Counselor for Public Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi, Vietnam (2019-2023). She previously served as Public Affairs Officer and Deputy Principal Officer at the U.S. Consulate General in Krakow, Poland (2015-2018). Earlier postings include the U.S. Embassy in Vientiane, Laos, where she served Public Affairs Officer (2011-2014), and the U.S. Embassy in Berlin, Germany, where she served as the Assistant Cultural Affairs Officer (2008-2010) and Deputy Press Attaché (2007-2008).  She has also worked as Political, Economic and Consular Officer in Malawi (2005-2007), and as Economic and Labor Officer in Cambodia (2003-2005).

Ms. DeVolder holds a B.A. in Political Economy of Industrial Societies and German from U.C. Berkeley, and a M.S. in Ecosystem Science and Conservation from the University of Washington. Prior to joining the Foreign Service in 2002, she developed techniques to remediate contaminated environments. She is married and has one daughter.
