All Disciplines Award, The New School, Parsons School of Design - Information Sciences and Systems

I have loved every second of the past 12 years, teaching Computer Science at Ralph Allen School in Bath. Watching how the Computing curriculum has evolved and seeing my students gain places to study exciting new topics at top universities, the past few years have had me wishing I could return to study further. Fulbright has enabled me to do just that. The course enables me to combine my love of Computer Science and Teaching. My project focus will be on helping teachers and schools unlock the power of the data they hold about their students by creating visual-based tools that can provide immediate insights into how they can best meet the individual learning needs of their pupils. This will not only benefit my own and others teaching approach, but the subject knowledge and skills I will develop will feed directly into my teaching curriculum on my return. This Fulbright also gives me the opportunity to gain an alternative educational perspective and collaborate and learn from a diverse group of people. I hope to continue to benefit from New York’s cultural diversity by experiencing as much music, art, food and experiences as I possibly can.
