Miriam Goldby
The Fulbright-Lloyd’s Scholar Award - University of Texas Austin
Miriam Goldby is Professor of Shipping, Insurance and Commercial Law at the Centre for Commercial Law Studies, Queen Mary University of London. Her research mainly focuses on the legal implications of the digital transformation of international trade. While in the US she will be researching cybersecurity governance, that is, the framework of rules and processes whereby cyber risk is managed across an organisation. Her aim is to understand better the US’s approach to cybersecurity governance and how these approaches affect the availability and affordability of insurance against cyber risk, another crucial element in increasing resilience against cyber risk. Miriam looks forward to joining the vibrant and dynamic academic community at the University of Texas at Austin. Her personal interests include film, music, contemporary art and good food and she looks forward to immersing herself in the cultural environment of Austin. She also plans to travel around Texas for some unique cultural experiences, including attending her first rodeo.
