Miranda Churchill

Miranda Churchill is a student at Pomona College in Claremont, California, where she plans to double major in Art History and Chemistry with a minor in French. Raised in Dallas, Texas, she developed an early awareness of disparities in access to the arts, shaping her commitment to expanding cultural accessibility. As a first-generation, low-income (FLI) scholar and active member of the 5C community, she brings both academic rigor and a strong sense of purpose to her work. 

Her academic interests lie at the intersection of visual culture and science, particularly in art conservation and curation, where she's interested in how material objects preserve and construct cultural identity. As a professional tap dancer back home, she also engages art as an embodied practice. 

At the University of St Andrews, Miranda will study Scotland’s evolving national identity through its visual and material heritage. She looks forward to engaging with museums, archives, and historic sites to better understand how cultural narratives are preserved and transformed. She hopes this experience will deepen her desire to pursue a career expanding access to art and cultural education in underserved communities.
