Leonard Wang

Fulbright/University of Strathclyde Award

Leonard is a fourth-year MD/MPH student at the University of Texas Medical Branch. He completed a bachelor’s degree in Honors Biomedical Sciences at the University of Houston through an accelerated BS/MD program. In medical school, Leonard worked as the Health Policy Research Coordinator for the Department of Family Medicine and collaborated on research-to-policy projects with over $1.1 million in funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. With a passion for public health and health equity, Leonard is an Albert Schweitzer Senior Fellow and TYLENOL® Future Care Scholar.  
 
At the University of Strathclyde, Leonard will pursue an MSc in Health and Social Policy. Through Fulbright, Leonard will gain valuable professional and personal experiences to support his future career as a physician working at the intersection of clinical practice, policy, and healthcare leadership to alleviate health inequities and provide compassionate care to the underserved.
