Kathryn Jones
Fulbright Distinguished Teacher
Kathryn is a History teacher at a boys' grammar school in Birmingham, England. She trained to teach in 2019-2020, after graduating with a BA in History from the University of Oxford, and is passionate about creating a broad and inclusive History curriculum. As Head of Year 13, she also manages the pastoral care of students as they navigate their final examinations and university applications. In 2025, alongside teaching, she completed her MA in Education at the University of Warwick, examining the role that History could play in climate justice education. More recently, she has investigated the opportunities and challenges of AI in the History classroom as part of an action research project.
The Fulbright Program will give her the chance to collaborate with US teachers, expand on aspects of this research and bring new ideas back to the UK. On the weekends, Kathryn enjoys walking her dog, spending time in the Welsh mountains, and experimenting (often with limited success!) in the kitchen. She is looking forward to developing her own skills and building connections with other educators as part of the Fulbright Program.
