Kitty will graduate in 2026 with a Master’s in Comparative Literature from Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea, where she has lived for the past four years. Born and raised in London, she completed her undergraduate studies at SOAS, London, in 2020. Her work focuses on folklore and gendered forms of storytelling, tracing how narrative traditions evolve from antiquity to the present. After graduation, Kitty worked at a charity supporting people living with dementia, an experience that deepened her interest in storytelling as a communal act of care. In 2022 she was awarded the Global Korea Scholarship, allowing her to pursue further study in South Korea. Living abroad has shaped the way she approaches life and learning, deepening her interest in how stories travel across cultures and the contexts in which they are shared. Kitty is looking forward to beginning a PhD in Comparative Literature in the States. She is excited to study how American storytelling traditions intersect with her comparative work on folklore and engage with new academic circles, participate in local community initiatives and gain experience in pedagogical training. She is also looking forward to exploring new cities, visiting museums and eating lots of good food!
