Cardiff University - Global Challenges Teaching Award

Jill Morgan is a Reader at Cardiff University and a qualified physiotherapist with a master’s degree in Physiotherapy. Her teaching and research focus on preparing future healthcare professionals to deliver equitable, person-centred care in an increasingly complex global health landscape. As a recipient of the Global Teaching Award, Jill is committed to fostering international collaboration and shared learning between the UK and the United States. Through this opportunity, she aims to deepen understanding of healthcare inequalities that exist within and across both countries, exploring how social, economic, and environmental factors influence health outcomes. A particular focus of her work is how vulnerable populations may experience disproportionately greater health challenges as environmental pressures increase. Jill believes that educating healthcare students about the interconnected nature of health, society, and climate is essential for creating a more just and sustainable future. She hopes to inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals to become informed advocates, equipped to challenge inequalities, drive positive change, and contribute to healthier communities both locally and globally.
