Jakob Highducheck

The Fulbright University of Exeter Summer Institute on Global Sustainability

Jakob Highducheck was raised in Inman, South Carolina, and is currently a rising sophomore at The College of Charleston in South Carolina. Jakob is majoring in Biology, and minoring in both Spanish and Environmental Sustainability. As a Biology major, Jakob is interested in learning about ecological interactions around the world and particularly the climate change issues facing southwest England.

Outside of regular classes, Jakob is a passionate filmmaker and has worked to promote change in his local community with documentary storytelling. He hopes to combine his passion for science and the arts to help make a difference in the world using effective environmental communication.

Additionally, as a member of the Bonner Leadership Program Jakob is actively engaged in serving his local Charleston community. He is excited to use the knowledge he learns at The University of Exeter to help better serve communities in the United States. Having never traveled abroad before, Jakob is very excited to experience new cultures and meet people from a diverse set of backgrounds while in England.
