Halle Fadil-Moore

Halle graduated from the University of Denver’s Korbel School of Global and Public Affairs with a BA in International Studies and Minors in History, Middle Eastern Studies, and Art. Halle’s academic interests grew from studies, travel, work in Jordan and Lebanon, and her interactions with refugees who remain steadfast to their culinary heritage and culture despite conflict and insecurity. At the University of Sussex’s Conflict, Security, and Development Master’s Program, she will build on her undergraduate research on Levantine culinary resilience to specialize in how conflict impacts food practices and cultural memory. Focusing on Levantine diaspora communities in the UK, she will research the connection between conflict, culinary heritage, and development. This Fulbright builds skills and knowledge for future research in cultural heritage and publishing stories of culinary resilience during conflict. Halle enjoys visiting museums, beekeeping, and nature. She is excited to learn about UK culture and diverse culinary traditions. With her Master's cohort, she hopes to start a monthly picnic to learn about the cuisines of her peers from the UK and around the globe.
