Gina Sinclair

Fulbright/University of St Andrews Award

Gina Sinclair is pursuing an MLitt in International Security Studies at the University of St Andrews as a Fulbright Scholar, where her research focuses on allied perspectives in nuclear policy and doctrine. Growing up in Seoul, South Korea, Gina developed an early interest in alliance politics, deterrence, and the role of U.S. security commitments in shaping regional stability. Prior to St Andrews, Gina was a Nuclear Policy and Government Relations Specialist at Fuse, a nuclear technology startup focused on radiation effects testing and hardening for national security systems. There, she led congressional efforts, wrote policy pieces on defence and space resilience, and directed engagement across the Department of Energy, Department of Defence, and National Nuclear Security Administration.

Gina previously served as a research assistant to Professor Scott D. Sagan at Stanford University’s Center for International Security and Cooperation, where she researched the intersections of law, ethics, and U.S. nuclear doctrine, as well as public opinion surrounding nuclear weapons policy. She co-authored research with Professor Sagan published in the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists. As a Nuclear Scholar with the Center for Strategic and International Studies’ Project on Nuclear Issues (PONI), Gina conducted research on U.S. extended deterrence and alliance commitments, particularly regarding South Korea and the U.S. nuclear umbrella, and was selected to present her work at Los Alamos National Laboratory. Outside of her academic and policy work, Gina is an avid attendee of the opera, symphony, and contemporary art museums.
