George grew up in the small coastal town of Aberystwyth in Mid Wales and attended the first Welsh-medium school in the country. After graduating with first-class honours in Social Anthropology from SOAS, University of London, George pursued postgraduate studies at the University of Bristol, where he earned a Master's with Distinction in Anthropology and later, a PGCE in Religious Studies. Beyond the university campus, he has led several advocacy-based research projects on behalf of charities and thinktanks which have amplified the lived experience of marginalised people to the ears of policymakers in local and national government. He looks forward to pursuing a PhD in Applied Anthropology at the University of South Florida (USF), where he will combine critical urban studies with an anthropology of tourism and cultural heritage. George approaches anthropological research as an act of solidarity and a tool for social change, an ethos which aligns strongly with the department at USF. Through this program, George wants to democratise the ethnographic method through a digital social enterprise innovation which reimagines the dynamic between producers and consumers of cultural knowledge, specifically in the industry of urban tourism.
