Gaspard Pelurson

Gaspard is a Lecturer in Culture, Media & Creative Industries at King’s College London. He grew up in France and Belgium, and began his academic journey with a BA in English Studies from the University of the Sorbonne-Nouvelle (Paris III). He went on to complete a Master’s degree in English Literature at the University of Cambridge in 2012, followed by an MA in Media and Cultural Studies at the University of Sussex in 2013. During his time at Sussex, Gaspard worked as a Doctoral Tutor and Research Associate, earning his doctorate in Media and Cultural Studies in 2018.

From 2019 to 2022, he held the position of Lecturer in Media at Leeds Beckett University, where he retains fond memories of his time in the North of England.

Gaspard’s research sits at the intersection of cultural studies, game theory, and queer theory. His interests include digital exploration, ludic pedagogy, game détournement, and the pedagogical use of games in the classroom. His work critically engages with video games as a multifaceted medium and a space for cultural and societal reflection.
