Francesca Seni

Francesca is a historian of women’s political history in the twentieth century. She most recently graduated with an MA in History from NYU before working as a bilingual museum educator at the Museum of the City of New York and New York Historical. As a PhD candidate at the War Studies Department at King’s College, Francesca will be investigating government agencies responsible for creating propaganda during the Second World War and their role in shaping gendered imagery. More specifically, Francesca’s research aims to understand the state’s impact on prevalent stereotypes about women’s roles in twentieth century society. The Fulbright scholarship will enable Francesca to undertake a transnational project comparing the bureaucratic arms of Great Britain’s and the US’s federal governments. Francesca hails from Mountain View, California and spent most of her life there before moving to New York, where she has resided for the past seven years. Outside of her research, Francesca is a voracious reader, a music lover, and a runner, whether that be on a football pitch or long-distance.
