
Ethan Muckerheide
Fulbright/University of Stirling Award in Health, Well-being and Sport
Ethan Muckerheide, of Dayton, Ohio, graduated with a BS in Psychology from High Point University in North Carolina. Growing up around sport, Ethan found his greatest interest to be the mental aspect of athletics. He remains passionate about helping athletes perform and live their best.
While at High Point, Ethan participated in the Honors Scholar Program and was active in undergraduate research in the areas of clinical and cognitive psychology. He helped write a published book chapter on self-criticism's relation to anger, aggression, and violence, won a state-wide grant for a project investigating nonsuicidal self-injury, and presented at numerous national conferences. After graduating, he has also gained valuable applied experience working as a mental health technician in an inpatient psychiatric setting.
While at Stirling, Ethan will pursue an MSc in Psychology of Sport and hopes to conduct research to investigate how athletes in both the UK and the US can be better supported as they transition to higher levels of play in their careers.
