Ellis Walton

Fulbright/London School of Economics and Political Science Award

Ellis Walton, of Atlanta, Georgia, graduated from Morehouse College with a B.A. in Political Science and earned his J.D. from Howard University School of Law. At both institutions, he was deeply engaged in public service and environmental advocacy, serving in student government, interning for Congressman John Lewis, and founding Howard’s "Student Green Fund." He also presented research on equitable climate resilience strategies at the International Sustainable Development Research Conference and worked on numerous Environmental Justice matters with the Environmental Law Institute and Howard Law Environmental Justice Center.

Now an environmental attorney in Chicago, Ellis works to expand access to clean energy, protect clean air and water, and advance environmental justice policies. At LSE, he will pursue an MSc in Environmental Policy & Regulation, focusing on equitable governance and sustainable development. He looks forward to learning from global perspectives, exploring the UK’s green spaces, and volunteering with local sustainability and food justice projects through the Sustainable LSE program and other London initiatives. After Fulbright, Ellis plans to continue shaping and implementing policies that advance environmental justice while mentoring the next generation of environmental leaders.
