Eduarda Silva
Fulbright Lancaster University Summer Institute - Film
Eduarda Silva was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey and is currently a rising sophomore at New York University (NYU). She is majoring in Drama and studying in the Meisner Studio at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. As a Drama major, Eduarda is passionate about using performance and visual mediums to explore themes of identity, culture, and social justice.
As a proud first-generation Brazilian-American, Eduarda dedicates her academic work to researching the intersections of film, cultural identity, and access to education. One of her research focuses examined how the portrayal of Latin Americans in film influences first-generation adolescents' self-perception.
During her participation in the UK Fulbright Summer Institute at Lancaster University, she hopes to experience the craft and perspective necessary to create narratives that foster empathy and connection on an international scale.
While at Lancaster, Eduarda looks forward to engaging with local artists and scholars, exploring the UK’s rich cultural and theatrical history at venues such as The Dukes, and collaborating with peers on cross-cultural artistic projects.
