Eddie Jones

Fulbright All-Disciplines Postgraduate Award - University of Washington

Eddie is a graduate of UCL's Bartlett School of Architecture with an MEng in Engineering and Architectural Design and currently works as an architectural assistant in London. His academic and professional interests centre on creating a more democratic architecture that empowers communities while improving environmental sustainability. At the University of Washington, Eddie will explore how AI can support participatory design by giving disadvantaged communities the tools to shape environments that better reflect their needs. While studying on the Master of Architecture programme, he looks forward to interdisciplinary collaboration with researchers across architecture, AI and sustainability alongside engaging with the university's strong culture of community partnership. During his Fulbright Award, Eddie hopes to deepen his understanding of the social and environmental challenges facing the built environment and develop new approaches that can inform a more inclusive architectural practice. Ultimately, he hopes to develop practical frameworks that enable communities to shape places that better serve their needs and aspirations, allowing them to become active participants rather than passive inhabitants.
