Coral Hatch was born and raised in Winston Salem, North Carolina, and is a rising junior at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She is currently majoring in Social Work with a minor in History, and plans to earn her Master’s degree in Counseling with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health. She is a member of her university’s chapter of Tri-Alpha Honor Society for first-generation college students pursuing leadership and demonstrating academic success.

She is employed on campus with the University Center for Academic Excellence in the role of a Students Obtaining Success Peer Mentor, where she pursues student advocacy and leadership. Aside from her studies, she has been a dancer since she was two years old, and continues to perform with the student organization, Range of Motion Dance Ensemble.

She is excited to combine her love of history and her passion for social work while studying the combined themes of Identity and Nationhood at Aberystwyth University. Having never traveled outside of the United States, she is thrilled to immerse herself in new cultural experiences while continuing her studies.
