Cooper Bertschi

The Fulbright Queen's University Belfast Summer Institute

Cooper Bertschi is a rising Junior from Hartville, Ohio pursuing a double major in History and Political Science at Kenyon College. Cooper’s diverse academic interests are firmly rooted in the liberal arts. He is focused on the intersection of politics, history, and public service in academia and society. As such, he is especially excited for the Summer Institute at Queen’s University Belfast, which embraces academic excellence across multiple varied disciplines.

Cooper is also dedicated to activism and community engagement. As an Associate at the Center for the Study of American Democracy at Kenyon, he collaborates with students and community members to register voters each year and craft nonpartisan voter education resources. He also sings with the Kenyon College Chamber Singers, traveling across the country to perform on tour each spring.

Cooper is excited for the academic and extracurricular opportunities presented by the Summer Institute in Belfast. He is eager to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds in his first trip abroad, and he seeks to connect with others through shared interests in academics, activism, and music.
