Chelsea Murdock

The Fulbright University of Bristol Summer Institute on Arts, Activism, and Social Justice

Chelsea Murdock was born and raised in Fishers, Indiana, and is a rising sophomore at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, majoring in Secondary English Education with minors in Multicultural Education and African-American Studies. As an active member of her university and home communities, Chelsea is interested in combining her love of education with activism. She looks forward to exploring the intersection of literature, education, and social justice at the University of Bristol.

Chelsea is also passionate about fighting for education equity. Through her experiences working with educational organizations, her interest in helping youth, especially those from marginalized backgrounds, achieve access to education opportunities has increased. Chelsea is excited to apply the skills and knowledge from this Summer Institute to better serve her home communities while acting as an equitable education advocate.

In addition to the academic experiences at the Summer Institute, Chelsea is excited to meet and work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and immerse herself in the vibrant culture. Having never traveled abroad for an extended period, Chelsea looks forward to exploring the charm and history of Bristol.
