Charli Cowgill
Fulbright All Disciplines Postgraduate Award - The New School
Charli Cowgill graduated with a BA in English from the University of Cambridge. Since graduating in 2023, she has moved to London and worked as a writer for stage, director and dramaturg. She has produced her work as part of the performance collective piss / CARNATION. Her work has been described as 'raw and riotous' (The Stage) and 'brutally revealing' (The Guardian), winning the Untapped Award 2024 and an OFFIE Award for Best LGBTQ+ Performance.
While undertaking the Fulbright scholarship, Charli intends to develop her study of writing out of theatre and into prose. She will be studying an MFA in New York City, and is looking forward to participating in a transfemme-centric literary and cultural scene - both developing her work for stage and exploring new mediums beyond.
