Cari Street
Fulbright All Disciplines Postgraduate Award - University of Chicago
As she completes the final year of her BA in Culture, Media, and Creative Industries at King’s College London, Cari Street is preparing for the next chapter of her academic journey. A proud Northerner, she was born and raised in Leeds, where she worked as a teaching assistant at a state primary school, supporting children with special educational needs before relocating to London. Her experiences in education, along with her role as a sibling carer for her younger brother, have shaped her research interests at the intersection of gender, media, disability, and care.
Through the Fulbright Program, Cari will pursue a Master of Arts in the Humanities at the University of Chicago, where she looks forward to engaging in truly interdisciplinary research that bridges these fields.
Beyond her studies, she is eager to explore Chicago's culture, hunt down the best deep-dish pizza, and find out just how windy the Windy City really is. She also hopes to join a local singing group and use music as a way to connect with her new community.
