Austin Stitz

Fulbright Scotland Summer Institute on Technology, Innovation and Creativity: University of Strathclyde and the Glasgow School of Art

Austin Stitz, born and raised in Matthews, North Carolina, is a rising sophomore at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, majoring in Electrical Engineering and planning on pursuing a dual degree program with Physics and a minor in Anthropology.

Austin has a wide range of interests, as can be seen through the clubs and organizations he is involved in. At UNC Charlotte, Austin is a member of the robotics club, participates in Mock Trial competitions, writes and argues legislation through the North Carolina Student Legislature, and competes in various cybersecurity competitions through UNC Charlotte’s cybersecurity club.

Austin ultimately plans to pursue a career in biomedical engineering, focusing on medical imaging and sensing, and is excited to learn more about new medical and technological innovations at the Glasgow School of Art and University of Strathclyde. And as someone who values and enjoys learning about other cultures, he is excited to learn more about historical and contemporary Scotland and explore the vibrant culture there, seeing the places and meeting the people that make Scotland unique.
