Fulbright Scotland Summer Institute on Technology, Innovation and Creativity: University of Strathclyde and the Glasgow School of Art

Amar Rajput from Lombard, Illinois is a rising junior at Elmhurst University. He is majoring in biology with a minor in neuroscience. Amar is currently in an early acceptance program for the medical class of 2026. Through his participation in his university’s South Asian Student Association, he actively works to support new students and cultivate a sense of community on campus.

Additionally, Amar advocates for students embarking on careers within the medical field. Through his volunteer experiences including shadowing several physicians in underserved communities and working in a laboratory during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Amar has witnessed the profound disparities in access to services and patient care. He is driven to becoming an impactful physician and patient advocate, and aspires to address these inequities throughout his future medical career.

Amar is excited to explore new perspectives and dive into a diverse environment at the Glasgow School of Art and the University of Strathclyde. Having never traveled to Scotland, he looks forward to building new relations with global cohorts, exploring Scottish culture, and engaging in a transformative experience.
