Allie Godfrey
Fulbright University of St Andrews Summer Institute
Allie Godfrey is a first-year undergraduate at the University of Idaho studying Electrical Engineering. She volunteers at outreach events that encourage young girls to pursue STEM and works as a tutor. In her free time, you’ll find Allie throwing pottery and spending time in the great outdoors. She is passionate about using engineering to solve real-world problems and about creating opportunities for others in technical fields.
Having never travelled outside the United States, Allie is ecstatic to explore Scotland and study at University of St. Andrews. She looks forward to learning more about Scotland’s rich history and culture while experiencing life in one of the world’s most historic university towns. Through her academic and cultural experiences, she is excited to engage with new perspectives, meet students from diverse backgrounds, and immerse herself in local traditions and communities.
During her time in the UK, Allie hopes to grow both personally and professionally by stepping outside her comfort zone, becoming a more globally minded engineer, and bringing home a broader understanding of how culture can connect people across borders.
