Alisa Tom

Alisa is an accomplished interior designer dedicated to creating spaces that enhance well-being and promote sustainability. Growing up in San Francisco, she learned early on the profound impact of the built environment on well-being, sparking a lifelong fascination with how spaces shape human behavior.
Alisa pursued her undergraduate studies in Interior Design, Art, and English Literature as a Presidential Scholar at San Francisco State University. She further developed her creative leadership skills with a Master’s in Design Management and Communications from Georgetown University, where she was elected graduate student senator.
Professionally, Alisa has led teams in crafting innovative workplaces for sustainability-minded clients such as Salesforce and Google. She holds WELL AP and LEED AP ID+C credentials, highlighting her expertise in enhancing sustainability and well-being through design.
As a Fulbrighter, Alisa aims to leverage design to address the systemic challenges outlined in the UN’s Global Goals for Sustainable Development. While pursuing a Master’s in Design for Change at the University of Edinburgh, she is eager to explore how multisensory environments transform the human experience.
When not dreaming up her next designs, Alisa enjoys doing improv, exploring nature, or striking a pose in yoga class. She looks forward to immersing herself in Edinburgh’s vibrant arts scene and Scotland’s great outdoors.
