Abe Rubin

Fulbright/University of Warwick Award

Abe graduated from Northwestern University in June 2025 with a BA in Mathematical Methods in the Social Sciences (MMSS) and Economics and a minor in Political Science. Abe’s interest in political science stemmed from a project in his first year applying spatial modeling to U.S. Supreme Court decision-making. Since this initial experience, Abe has sought to better understand voter knowledge and behavior. In 2023, he received a research grant to study voter perceptions of political ideology. His subsequent honors thesis examined the drivers of moderate ideological identification.

Abe will pursue a MA at the University of Warwick in the Department of Politics and International Studies. In his MA dissertation, he plans to investigate the dynamics of political nostalgia in contemporary political behavior and policy. After returning to the US, Abe intends to pursue a PhD in Economics or Political Science, preparing for a career in policy research. Ultimately, he aspires to contribute to policy research aimed at improving voter knowledge, information access, and decision-making.

Outside of academics, Abe enjoys hiking, cooking, and playing music. He is looking forward to joining the local music scene in Coventry and exploring the UK’s natural landscapes.
