#OurClimatePledge for COP26: join the climate change campaign

The US-UK Fulbright Commission is part of a coalition of UK government scholarships coming together to tackle climate change in 2021.

This year the UK is hosting the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26), to be held in Glasgow on 1 to 12 November. The Commission is coming together with other government scholarships to celebrate the action being taken across our networks, and to encourage further action to protect our planet.

Make a pledge: highlight action you have already planned, or make a completely new commitment

We are inviting you to make a pledge to help tackle climate change, by taking a specific action. Your pledge could be action that you or your organisation have already planned, or a new commitment. We encourage you to be ambitious, but to make a pledge that feels right for you. You can find some examples here to help inspire you to make a suitable pledge.

Examples of action you can pledge

  • Race to Zero: if you lead your own organisation or business, we encourage you to pledge to join the Race To Zero campaign and develop a net zero action plan. You can find out more about the Race to Zero campaign here.
  • Energy transition: you could pledge to transfer to a clean energy provider in your home and/or your office by the end of 2021 if this is available to you.
  • Finance: you could pledge to make sure any savings or pensions you may have are invested ethically and sustainably.
  • Share your expertise: is sustainability an area you are already working in? Why not pledge to share your expertise more widely in 2021?

In the run up to COP26 we’ll be sharing some of the most exciting and impactful climate pledges of the campaign – keep an eye out for more.
