Nelson Garcia-Narvaez

Director of Finance

Nelson Garcia-Narvaez is the Commission’s Director of Finance. He is a chartered accountant, fellow member of the Certified Public Accountants Association (CPAA) in the UK and the College of Public Accountants (CCP) in Venezuela. He holds a degree in Public Accounting, a master’s with specialisation in Finance, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education. He is currently a member of the Association of Certified Public Accountant Committee for the London branch.

He works closely with the Board, Committees, and the Executive Management Team, assessing operational activities, providing strategic financial planning, and influencing in service provision decisions across the organisation. His own experience of working and studying abroad makes him an enthusiastic believer in the positive benefits of international exposure to aid education and professional development.

He is a former Rotary Club member and has an interest in organising fundraising events to support charity organisations. He speaks Spanish and English and is currently studying to learn Portuguese and Italian. Aside from speaking and learning languages, Nelson also enjoys exercising and dancing
