Global Environmental Issues

This Study of the US Institute explores environmental issues in the context of a globalised society, drawing comparisons between the US and participants’ home countries. The Global Environment Issues SUSI is hosted by the University of Oregon.

The academic programme examines current themes in the field of environmental studies including:

  • Natural resource management
  • Sustainable development
  • Sustainable agricultural practices
  • Food security
  • Ecotourism
  • New and traditional forms of energy generation
  • Water management and treatment

Students have the opportunity to meet with policy makers, individuals in technical positions, community representatives, indigenous leaders, and other key stakeholders invested in the protection and management of the environment.

For the one-week educational tour, participants travel to another part of the USA to network with local, state, private and not-for-profit organisations working in the field.

Programmes will run from June 27 - August 1 2018.
