SUSI application instructions

We are looking for applicants from a broad range of backgrounds, who can demonstrate leadership through academic work, community involvement and/or extracurricular activities.

Academic excellence is also important, but we are looking for more than that. The best applications are from well-rounded students who have ambassadorial skills, a desire to further the Fulbright programme, and a plan to give back to your home country when you return.

Choosing an Institute

There are several SUSIs available every year. Each Institute focuses on a specific subject or topic. You do not need to study these subjects to apply, and are encouraged to explore your interests.

  1. Read the terms and conditions before applying
  2. Apply through our application form before 18 December 2017
  3. Scan and upload your official interim transcript to the application form as a PDF
  4. Speak to two referees, and ask them to upload references on official, signed letterhead as a PDF via the online reference form

The application form must be completed, with transcripts attached, and submitted along with your references before the deadline. Your application will not be considered if any of these are missing or submitted late.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to interview in January. SUSI interviews are by Skype and cannot be rescheduled.

All applicants will be informed of their status by April. The Fulbright Commission cannot comment or provide feedback on individual applications.
