Fight for Sight

The Fulbright Fight for Sight Award allows academics and professionals to pursue laboratory based research into the prevention of sight loss and treatment of eye disease at any accredited higher education institution in the USA.

This grant covers any appropriate nine-to-twelve month project.

Fight for Sight is the UK’s leading charity dedicated to funding pioneering research to prevent sight loss and treat eye disease. The charity funds a wide range of ground-breaking research into eye diseases that affect millions of people both young and old, including age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma, cataract, diabetic retinopathy, corneal disease, inherited retinal diseases including retinitis pigmentosa, Stargardt’s, choroideremia and many rare eye diseases.

Its objective is to benefit those currently affected by sight loss or who may be affected in the future.  Fight for Sight aims to ensure the dissemination of research findings so that advances can be translated into patient benefit and to increase understanding of how the eye works, how sight loss can develop and how it can be prevented and/or treated.
