During her Fulbright year Ms. Sagui began work on her PhD Dissertation, entitled “Law, Order and the Development of Urban Policing in Late Medieval England.” The dissertation, which focuses Norwich between 1288-1450, assesses how systems like the hue and cry and frankpledge allowed ordinary residents enforce social norms within the city. It also includes a prosopographical analysis of civic officials.

While she was in Norwich, Ms. Sagui presented facets of her project at the History Post Graduate Group at the University of East Anglia and at a Study Day about Medieval and Early Modern Norwich at the same university. She also arranged to give papers at the Fifteenth Century Studies Conference (September, 2011), the Late Medieval Seminar at the Institute for Historical Research (December, 2011), and the International Congress on Medieval Studies at Kalamazoo (May, 2012).
