Patrick Dowling was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  He grew up in Roanoke, Virginia and graduated from Hidden Valley High School, where he was recognized as Valedictorian. In addition to being a member of several honours societies and organizations, he is an active member of Cave Spring Volunteer Rescue Squad, where he has served for the last three years as a certified Emergency Medical Technician.   Patrick is a rising-sophomore at Roanoke College, where he is a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity and is conducting research with the Biology department.  Patrick is a recipient of the ACS Student Affiliate Award, the Karen Adkisson Award, and is an elected executive officer for the Alpha Lambda Delta Honour Society.  In his free time, Patrick is an avid sports fan and loves to fish. As a participant in the Fulbright-University of Bristol Summer Institute, he is excited for the opportunity to explore England’s culture and learn more about Bristol’s role in the slave trade.
