Molly Gormley is a proud native of the Philadelphia suburbs and a proud graduate of Upper Darby High School, where she was valedictorian. In high school, Molly was drum major of the marching band, co-editor-in-chief of the school newspaper, president of the National Honor Society, a cymbal player in the Winter Guard International championship-winning drumline, and she even managed to walk away with a homecoming queen crown. Now a rising sophomore at American University, Molly has immersed herself in the AU Honors Program, Chi Alpha Campus Ministries, the university's symphonic band, various service clubs, and the exciting opportunities of Washington, DC. In Belfast, Molly hopes to use the cultural perspective of the Irish Studies program to investigate The Troubles' successes and failures in conflict resolution. She is eager to connect what she learns to her major in International Studies and interest in restoring communities that have been affected by conflict.
