Liza was born in Englewood, New Jersey. She is a rising junior at Cornell University in the College of Arts & Sciences. A College Scholar, Lisa is taking a double major in music (focusing on composition and classical voice) and economics. She is involved in many activities including serving as President of Cornell’s composing club. Liza has studied music since she was in kindergarten, initially beginning with piano and later including voice and composition. Throughout high school and university, she has created and participated in a variety of charities and community outreach programmes involving music, including donating musical instruments to New Orleans children affected by Hurricane Katrina. Liza was an intern at Boosey & Hawkes, the international classical music publishing company, in their New York City office. Next year, following the Fulbright Summer Institute at Newcastle University, Liza has been selected to study music, primarily composition, for a semester at Manhattan School of Music in New York City.
