Kyle Bukhari was born in San Francisco, California. He has danced in the U.S., Germany, and Switzerland, most notably with the Joffrey Ballet and the Zurich Ballet. His original choreography has been performed internationally, and was a prize winner in "The Best German Dance Solo” in Leipzig in 1998. Kyle graduated in 2013 from Columbia University magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, with a degree in Anthropology. He presented his research on postmodern choreographer Yvonne Rainer and philosopher of art Arthur Danto at the University of Ghent, Belgium. Most recently he introduced the work of choreographer Jodi Melnick at New York Live Arts, and performed at the Whitney Museum in anthropologist Mick Taussig's Berlin Sun Theatre. As a Fulbright postgraduate scholar, Kyle will be studying the relationship between dance and music in contemporary British choreography, while completing an MA in Dance Studies at the University of Roehampton, London.
