Chelsea McDonald is a Social Justice Scholar at Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Illinois. She attended an International Baccalaureate High School where she was President of Genocide Intervention and Awareness, Youth Political Movement and Health Club, as well as a member of Mock Trial, Editor-in-Chief of the school newspaper, and design editor for a literary magazine. She served as an intern for Organizing for America as well as her state senator. At Lake Forest College, she is vice-president of Student Women Awareness Network, an ambassador for the college, a radio disc jockey, newspaper designer and design editor for the literary magazine. She also interns for a United States Congressman and runs a pen pal program for third graders between North Chicago and Uganda. Chelsea's free time is spent in either art museums or at poetry slams. She is double majoring in Politics, and Sociology/Anthropology with a minor in Social Justice. She hopes to gain a deeper understanding of peaceful conflict resolution and deepen her knowledge of the UK culture from this summer's Fulbright Queen Belfast Institute.
