Programme Manager - US Scholar Programmes

We are seeking a Programme Manager to serve as the first point of contact for US academics and professionals, applying for a Fulbright Scholar Award to research and/or lecture in the UK.

You will be responsible for managing the selection process, co-ordinating events for US grant recipients throughout the year and providing support and guidance to them in relation to their temporary relocation to the UK. You will need to develop and present promotional content, generate programme reports and records as well as working closely with the Communications Manager and the other members of the Awards team to ensure team objectives are met.

You will have experience of facilitating international exchanges and providing support to academics and be able to demonstrate the capability to develop good working relationships both internally and externally. You should possess excellent communication and time management skills with an acute attention to detail and an ability to work on your own initiative without close supervision.

The US-UK Fulbright Commission is a not-for-profit organisation funded by both governments to promote educational exchange between the US and the UK. The Commission offers prestigious Fulbright awards for postgraduate study and academic research in the US and the UK, as well as a number of other programmes and services for people interested in studying in the US.

Since the UK programme began 70 years ago, more than 27,000 people have been given a Fulbright award through the Commission, and today the programme continues to foster mutual understanding and people-to-people connections. In the 21st century, Fulbrighters address critical priorities while building relationships, knowledge, and leadership in support of the long-term interests of the US and the UK. The programme prepares participants to address the major global challenges of our time, from energy sustainability and economic development to public health and food security.

We offer exceptional opportunities for people interested in international education. You will join a small but dynamic and highly-motivated team of colleagues who are passionate about their work. Our staff benefits include 23 days annual leave in addition to days the office is closed.

The role is being offered on a fixed term basis for up to 12 months whilst the current post holder takes on a maternity cover secondment.
